Vojtech Dostal @vojtechdostal.bsky.social · 25/09/2026On the other hand, what do you expect to see in the original data? Obviously there won't be nuclei... Perhaps some cloud like structures or vesicles which were classified as nuclei... I don't need raw data to see that the AI classification hallucinated organelles. 120

Vojtech Dostal @vojtechdostal.bsky.social · 01/08/2026BORC antibodies are generally very bad on IF, but this one turned out quite nice yesterday ... and thus we can validate one more peripheral lysosomal protein! 030
Vojtech Dostal @vojtechdostal.bsky.social · 23/07/2026Another attempt to demonstrate my two lysosomal subpopulations, this time live with overexpressed EPDR1 and LAMP2B. 020
Vojtech Dostal @vojtechdostal.bsky.social · 17/06/2026Although dual overexpression makes the perinuclear accumulation less apparent than with EPDR1-only overexpression or other approaches, I still feel that live imaging can be an added value here. 000
Vojtech Dostal @vojtechdostal.bsky.social · 17/06/2026My project at @i-med.ac.at focused on lysosomal proteins which show an uneven distribution between perinuclear and peripheral pools (www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...) Here's one identified perinuclear lysosomal protein, EPDR1-mCherry (magenta), expressed in U2OS cells alongside LAMP1 (green). 131
Vojtech Dostal @vojtechdostal.bsky.social · 31/05/2026I think it must be a Rab-something. We did its interactome once in Dictyostelium and it pulled down many Rabs besides CCC. But yeah who knows. We never completed the project because we could not find one specific target. 000
Vojtech Dostal @vojtechdostal.bsky.social · 30/05/2026I got another one. Can DENND10 emergence in eukaryotes somehow guide us what are its Rab targets? I mean do all eukaryotes with DENND10 have Rab27 - which is claimed to be its target? 100
Vojtech Dostal @vojtechdostal.bsky.social · 30/05/2026Very cool work, who would have thought a few years ago that COMMDs are actually older than retromer - I had thought about them as an appendix. Do we know why it forms these rings? Where's the membrane, inside the ring, or does it lay flat? 100
Vojtech Dostal @vojtechdostal.bsky.social · 20/05/2026My postdoc paper is now out as a preprint 📜 What actually happens inside cells when lysosomes are repositioned? We show that changing lysosome position has functional consequences — and we also uncover specific lysosomal proteins that become enriched or depleted depending on their localization. 062
Vojtech Dostal @vojtechdostal.bsky.social · 26/03/2026Love it! Can I e-mail you to ask for the vectors? I am enbarking on some endogenous tagging and this could be a very nice approach. 000
