@thestranger.com hey, do you have endorsements coming up for the 2026 WA/King County elections? I know how I'm going to vote for all of the partisan offices, but not for the non-partisan offices.

Any trans-femme writers in PDX who would like to do a writers meetup? It would be a combination get-together, writing session, and craft talk. The only criteria are that you are transfeminine and serious about your writing, whether you’ve sold anything or not. Please share with your Portland pals!

Hi Leah,

Congratulations! We have selected your comedy feature Headless Over Hells for a live script reading at the 33rd annual Austin Film Festival! As a reminder, scripts chosen must have the writer present at the Festival & Conference.

“Bram was my friend, and I cared for him,” Doyle said slowly. “I do not wish to injure his reputation or his memory by confirming any such surmises. He had his weaknesses and his vices, just as any man does. But knowledge of those vices have been effectively suppressed. I do not see how aiding you would further your investigation, and I will do nothing to injure Florence.”

“Therein lies your injustice to him, sir,” Ingrid said coldly, her English fraying into that strange parlance with her increasing agitation. “You call him a man of vice, but I see no such parallel to what I may call vice. I see no such weaknesses, except maybe that he lie from the pressures of social expectation. He is not a felon, or a murderer, or a cruel man who preys on the weak. If he love more than one person, is that a sin? If his partner he love brings education to this Mrs. Harker with his comforting words, what vice is in that, please?”

“Ingrid,” Quincey interjected. “Are you saying—”

“I need not say it,” she said, gesturing to Doyle. “This so famous man who writes mysteries and speaks of the persistent injury by the warping of body must understand that to warp the mind and the heart against its natural will also creates injury.”

“I see you’re up on your Hirschfeld,” Doyle said with a small smile. “And I do not hold Mr. Stoker in contempt for his inclinations. I only lament the needless pain they have caused him, and his family.”

“I do not wish to cast judgement on the fellow,” Quincey said, feeling increasingly unspooled. “As you see, this letter was delivered to me in answer to the deaths of my parents. If there is any connection that might allow me to bring justice to them—”

“Perhaps there is,” Doyle admitted. “I want to help you, but I must extract a solemn promise from you. If you pursue this line, and it proves fruitful, the police must not know the particulars.”

“You are afraid for your big name,” Ingrid scoffed. “The threat of scandal rules men of your class, but you defen…

Why is my fire tv promoting this. I mean, a dremel is very useful. We use them when trimming the tang on fencing blades. I have a scene in a book where someone threatens a captive with one. But I’m not sure what this is about and I’m afraid to find out
