I picked up a Martin Amis novel based on a blurb saying @aidantruhen.bsky.social's PRICE YOU PAY sounded like "Amis on mescaline" and while I enjoyed what I read of the Amis & will probably get back to it, it turns out the mescaline was a key ingredient (in this case) (for me)

When I was a kid I made T-Rex hands a lot. If you do not know what those are just look at the Jurassic Park poster. Basically that was how I stood when I was happy or nervous. I had T-Rex hands.

As Mamdani said on his ninth day in office, his agenda is not simply about curbing the city's most urgent crises, but also includes helping "working people to afford lives of joy." That includes an intentional, visible effort to make many smaller-scale improvements to quality of life in the city. And it also includes efforts by the mayor himself to show up in the places where New Yorkers let loose and celebrate side-by-side with them.
