I guess we'll see the real TCO if it ever happens, including cleanup of the 'temporary' storage sites and the transport issues! At the moment all the costs are theoretical because it hasn't been done yet. Sub reactors are filthy and tricky compared to commercial ones Doable, probably, but at what $?

I wonder what the comedown was like! A few days in a cave talking to spirits probably. Native bacci is quite potent but not a great smoke. Must be a bunch of psychoactives involved, and probably regional delicacies that were traded far and wide. @robertarnol.bsky.social will know more.

It is literally AIDS for the modern era, an acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. There would be an excellent chance of handling it were our governments not in the hands of criminals.

I don't think anyone who's built the small sub reactors knows how to safely dispose of them. They end up being parked in docks, rusting, awaiting some future budget surplus or amazing invention. Typical military mindset.

I saw a few friends go to them monthly for years and never get better. The history of "The Chiropractic" should be ready by anyone daring enough to use them. They have a sordid history, and the best they can manage is that of a mediocre massage. A trained sports physio is safer, and works.

Hamilton also coined the term "software engineering" and founded two successful software companies.

The reality is that Australia *has* scientists qualified and well-versed in the best ways to manage our natural resources, but the government (Lib/Lab, it doesn’t matter) is beholden to corporate and agricultural interests and will always, always allow these to override the input from scientists.

Is there any data on the volume of ice? Given that this region is vital to a lot of ocean currents via sinking brine, you'd think it would be a high priority. The ice shelves are fragging too, very nonlinear, so a lot going on down there!
