Great to see this finally out! ✨ A real pleasure to contribute to this special issue celebrating 50 years of #Clathrin and to revisit how this superstar coat keeps surprising us ⚽🔬

Well, well, well, here we go again. A tutorial is coming. In the meantime: we have found that Piezo1 adapts the endocytic machinery to sustain clathrin mediated endocytosis of EGFR on stiff substrates. No Piezo1, the textbook example of EGF triggering EGFR internalisation via CME goes kaputt.

See this? This = implanting mouse embryo. Usually this happens inside its mother and is invisible to us, but we can actually watch implantation ex vivo with the hope of understanding why implantation goes awry in embryos of older women. A 🧵...

remember, be careful what you post on a day like this. If you do it right, you can get illegally fired for being disrespectful to Lindsay Graham and then win a massive lawsuit about 10 months from now and retire with 2 million in your pocket

How do epithelial cells integrate mechanical and biochemical signals to control their behavior? I am @ronjahoutekamer.bsky.social, and in this thread, I’ll show you how force transduction connects to biochemical signaling, and how it activates ERK by inducing biochemical ligand shedding.

Out now! Our review proposing that repeated wound healing (never perfect) could explain the onset of diseases like cancer, asthma, or fibrosis. Fun to write. Hopefully, fun to read too. Let us know!

Imperfect wound healing sets the stage for chronic diseases
Although the age of the genome gave us much insight about how our organs fail with disease, it also suggested that diseases do not arise from mutations alone; rather, they develop as we age. In this R...
