Meat is shown to be a dietary cause of aggression. Nibert's 'Animal Oppression & Human Violence' shows human violence & ecological crises stem from Great Steppe warrior tribe's meat-based industrial animal herding 10kya. We're still under their system.

An animal does not become meaningful when humans find a use for her. She was already living a life that mattered. #animalrights #veganism
A sheep stands in a sunlit meadow filled with colorful wildflowers, looking directly toward the viewer. Rolling green hills fade into the morning mist behind her. Above the photograph, bold black text reads: “An animal’s life is not raw material, a commodity, or a resource waiting for us to give it purpose. It already has one: living.” The quote is attributed to Michael Corthell. The Vegan’s Voice logo appears inside an ivory badge at the lower right.

Compassion shouldn’t be conditional. It shouldn’t matter how ”intelligent” an animal is (humans judging intelligence in human terms is inherently flawed anyway), or how “cute”, or any other measure. ALL sentient beings deserve compassion and moral consideration. Period.

Every justice movement gets pushback. It's just that veganism is dismissed as diet. That's how objectified the victims are, they aren't even thought about by their oppressors.
The image contains text in a conversation format, with "Nonvegans" and "Vegans" as the two parties. Each group has different statements aligned to the left:

Nonvegans:
- "equality now; legalize gay marriage!"
- "fuck police brutality; black lives matter!"
- "no means no; end rape culture!"

Vegans:
- "animals are not commodities; go vegan!"

Nonvegans:
- "wow, you vegans need to stop antagonizing people and respect their choices..."

At the bottom, there's a watermark that reads "@VeganForLifeNZ".

Over 75% of global agricultural land is dedicated to livestock and feed crops. Mass industrial agriculture exists primarily to raise, feed, and slaughter 80 billion land animals a year. Plant-based diets require vastly less land and scale. You’ve inverted basic supply chain math to protect a diet.

The Sexual Politics of Meat explains the concept of “the absent referent.” Behind every meal of meat is an absence: the death of the animal whose place the meat takes. This is the "absent referent." The absent referent functions to cloak the violence inherent to meat eating, to protect the conscience of the meat eater and render the idea of individual animals as immaterial to anyone’s selfish desires. It is that which separates the meat eater from the animal and the animal from the end product. The function of the absent referent is to keep our "meat" separated from any idea that she or he was once an animal, to keep something from being seen as having been someone, to allow for the moral abandonment of another being.

Animal Ag Reality @animalagreality.bsky.social · 03/04/2025
"It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it." Animal agriculture is threatened by the idea that consumers might question centuries of normalized violence and embrace veganism. Meanwhile, we will always need and support plant farmers.
A tweet from No Farmers, No Food (@NoFarmsNoFoods) states:
"This is fundamentally wrong."

The attached image features a piece of lab-grown meat being held with metal tweezers inside a glass petri dish. The person holding it is wearing blue laboratory gloves. The background is blurred but appears to be a laboratory setting.

The image includes a Farmers Weekly logo in the upper right corner and a bold yellow text overlay that reads:
"UK moves closer to approving lab-grown meat."

The tweet was posted at 5:22 AM on April 2, 2025, and has received 1M views.

Behind every glass of milk or piece of meat, is an absence; the abject suffering & brutal death of a sentient animal whose experience & existence has become replaced by the product. Therein lies the deception. We only see the product. We refuse to witness & ignore the violence.

I kinda think for a lot of people violence is abstract, it’s a bit like eating meat, versus providing meat to eat, people generally understand the process of what makes meat but most people haven’t seen that process end to end, a lot of people consume images of violence in a similar way.
