The #science and art of #extinction. Do you still see humans eating aka torturing animals, driving cars, flying on holiday, keeping meat eating pets but wanting more kids too? Spheres work like islands. Like St. Matthew Island, for example.

Not enough people know about EEI. We used to have (enough) cloud and ice to reflect sunlight back. Not anymore. Deforestation and removing air pollution reduces cloud formations and albedo permanently. The ice disappears permanently. Less snow. Etc. The albedo graph is the inverse temperature graph.

There are: 1,200,000,000 dogs (domesticated wolves). 200,000 wolves. Naturally, we need to hunt and kill the wolves. Why? They tend to eat the same food that our dogs eat. If humans and dogs adapted a plant-based diet, it would set 2/3s of land free to regenerate and to keep us all alive.

Many talk about peace, love and harmony or speak up against domestic violence and wars … but … there is a but. Real violence and real peace are more than words and slogans. They are real emotions and real actions. We can’t be violent for our short-term pleasures and expect anything positive in life.

All tech can alienate. Spears and fire caused the first human-caused mass extinction. But high tech means even higher alienation from basic life functions. High tech is per definition the exact opposite of resilience. High tech can rarely be local or self-sustained. Food or tech chain: Low > High

Near term human extinction is increasingly obvious. The reason why we can discuss #collapse but not #extinction is the story of humans. Collapse is social. Extinction is biological, like death. The human story is that we have decoupled from nature and are not “lower” animals. #SoonerThan #NTHE

Human #extinction studies are not popular. It shouldn't surprise that those that do exist are not very "comprehensively modeled" (no population or °C modeling) or lack observational real world data consideration. Given population aka ppm & EEI growth we should expect 2°C by 2030 / 3°C by 2040. #NTHE

Extinction of the human species"	Reviews possible extinction mechanisms, including climate change and ecological degradation. Gives no population or warming trajectory for 2050/2100. When it comes to land use and CO2 accounting, we do genuinely stupid/dangerous things. We count new forest (expansion) or forestry as actual forest ecosystems. They are NOT. It takes 300-1000 years for primary forests to form, days to destroy them. The carbon sinks are collapsing - CO2 growth grows.
