being truthful is professional. I know that you are just gathering a list of resources, but in the end, many of them are just out of funds and cannot help. We need systemic change, and that starts with our commissioners and city manager.

and it is wildly unprofessional of you to think I side with Lee and Herman. Lee and Herman are not doing the work, I am and I hope you are. I can give my clients lists of resources all day, but in the end, if they cannot get help from anywhere on the list, it is pointless. What does help is educating people like Lee and Herman about the problem and getting everyone on the same page to make changes.

I have been up since four in the morning in addition to working my retail job. I am repainting a map of the entire town for this flier. This is just one of the major, massive projects I have planned for Athens.

I do not need someone replying to the comment of someone sympathizing with criticism of me and saying that that perspective -- which includes one guy who doesn't even visit our public library but wanted to make up a story to play pretend and materialize the shadows he sees on the walls of his personal cave -- is reality.

You should be using your platform and your education to inform the public just how much people need these resources., not lifting up the flame so that the shadows grow bigger. I understand that you probably just wanted to vent. We are in public. Not everyone reading your comments has the privilege of the education we both had.

People like me, who I am willing to bet are making way less than you can imagine at our regular jobs, are out there spending our off-time actually talking to the homeless, making sure they have what they need.

If you want to help, once again, my DMs are always open.

If you want to see me doing this in a different way, there's the replies to a local Nextdoor post. I don't think Katherine thinks that I'm 'supporting the homeless economy,' but I definitely think she didn't read the comments thoroughly before responding.

It is reality, no negativity. Most of these places are full or overflowing. I work hard everyday looking for help for my clients, but the money just isn't there for these organizations. As soon as help opens up, it closes.

I appreciate that you included the the public library to ensure it’s used to fullest capabilities: who needs children at the library when the homeless phones need to be charged. But as long as you feel good about yourself. That’s what matters in the homeless economy
