Last night we watched Perfect Days (2023) and the ending just knocked me on my ass b/c it contained every human emotion in the span of two minutes. I'm tearing up thinking about it

the male reading thing is way simpler than most people make it. men typically don't like reading books about women whereas the opposite isn't true because women typically see men as subjects and men typically see women as objects

I very occasionally write and read scary short stories and I did another one that, like all of them, is based very loosely on a real thing that happened to me! sites.libsyn.com/485205/sanct...

One of the things I know about writing is this: spend it all, shoot it, play it, lose it, all, right away, every time. Do not hoard what seems good for a later place in the book or for another book; give it, give it all, give it now. The impulse to save something good for a better place later is the signal to spend it now. Something more will arise for later, something better. These things fill from behind, from beneath, like well water. Similarly, the impulse to keep to yourself what you have learned is not only shameful, it is destructive. Anything you do not give freely and abundantly becomes lost to you. You open your safe and find ashes.
