I do think being unwilling to hear out and acknowledge a lot of the really shitty politics in Harry Potter (or any other art one likes) makes someone kinda shitty in turn. On the flip side, I think that "the thing you like is bad and you're *stupid* for liking it" is a shitty way of framing it.
