Please know that this is one of my few legitimate areas of actual, high-level professional expertise: Kicking the healthiest people off of a health insurance program will bankrupt it. Not 'could;' not 'might,' not 'probably," but absolutely will, with mathematical certainty.

This story and the story of the Collins corruption allegations broke the same day, and in one instance the administration is alleging fraud to remove access to healthcare, and in the other they are stopping anti-corruption investigations of political allies.

Anyone who doesn't think that this is all part of the plan is not paying attention. To sow fear and distrust. To make the ordinary citizen nervous. Standard authoritarian secret police protocol.

NYT has now independently corroborated all the major allegations against Susan Collins in the ProPublica report, including that investigators were prepared to move against her and then Trump intervened to shut it down. This put Trump in a position of exceptional and extortionate leverage over her.

From the class I teach on political corruption analysis: “Opportunistic and systemic corruption are related but distinct… Systemic corruption functions via networks of ongoing transactional relationships. Key links are usually based primarily on financial, service, and threat transactions…”

This is not your grandparents GOP. They have set up concentration camps. They want to invade Canada and Greenland. They have invaded Venezuela. They're engaged in market manipulation and all other sorts of corruption. They tore down the East Wing of the White House.

You’re lying to yourself if you don’t think misogyny is a factor. It’s easier, I suppose, for people to believe that the Clinton and Harris campaigns were so fatally flawed rather than to acknowledge that a decisive percentage of voters simply hate women. Hey, I’m sure AOC won’t pay a penalty.

This was Biden's ultimate failure. The inability to see that people weren't voting for Biden because they especially liked Biden. It was because they hated Trump. Now, Democrats are about to make the same mistake again. They think votes for them validate their inaction and their corporatism.

The president took on a vanity project, gave no-bid contracts to contractors who screwed it up, made up a story about vandals to cover it up, and then fomented a felony prosecution against an innocent scapegoat. You could impeach for anything he's done but "This asshole is out of control" is a layup

I get it. I don't pretend to understand all the historical details. If all you want is blood revenge then you found your man. We will bomb and destroy because we are very good at that. But if you're looking for proportional response, negotiation, and strategic planning, you're in the wrong timeline.

Democratic Socialists are winning because they go out and meet and listen to their constituents. And their constituents like their policies of getting things done. Any party or segments of a party can replicate this anytime. The biggest cost is time, not money.
