"A Presidential motorcade is driving from Texas to Oklahoma in bad weather" sounds like a premise for a great little indie horror flick.

Look at old completed art piece -> "Wtf how the heck did I make that? I can't do something like that again" -> make another piece of reasonably similar quality -> look at that piece after some time has passed -> "Wtf how the heck did I make that? I can't do something like that again" Repeat cycle 🔁

I was out running errands earlier and spotted a house with Halloween decorations on display, most notably a pair of full size human skeletons, one of them in a bridal gown. Best time of year. #Halloween

Ballpoint pen, watercolor, colored pencil, a little crayon, and charcoal pencil.

Our guy pulls up deep in the forest on his 2-speed bike. He’s flanked by tall dark trees and his path is blocked by a massive spider. He lets the Big Fella know it’s on. “Big Fella,” he says. “I fixed my 2-speed. You still wanna race.” Reader, you know Big Fella wants in on that action. Next slide.Against a starry night sky we see silhouettes of Big Fella and our man racing down a hill. It’s unclear in the drawing who will win but Big Fella is likely about to pull away.

Y’all, look at this absolute *unit* of a sycamore tree I found in the Pennsylvania woods. This giant was an absolute specimen. Over 200 years old. A trunk that dwarfed little ol’ six-foot me. I named it ‘Tree Rex.’ That’s an elder, man. An ancient. I do love me an old tree.

I suspect that one reason Jack Smith won't be AG in the next Democratic Administration is that it'd be hard to prosecute these Republican dirtbags when so many of them can say "You should recuse yourself on account of we were absolute vile shitheads to you so you might lack impartiality."

Apparently it takes a little effort to bypass the safeguards, but then "it will talk about any topic, it will even freely offer up recommendations about other topics that are also nefarious and it will be inventive and creative." I'm sure this is fine.

The thing about this book is that I wrote it from a deeply personal place-- it takes place where I went to hs, the main girl looks suspiciously like me-- about the rape culture I experienced at the age that was unacceptable. And all I've ever wanted for this book was its cultural irrelevance.

Hey authors fancy doing something fun for Halloween text in the alt description
Hi
Every Halloween week, Ginger Nuts of Horror likes to do something daft. This year it's the Halloween Author Interrogation: five silly questions sent to a batch of horror writers, with the best answers run together in one piece on Wednesday 28 October. We'd love you to be one of the accused.
There are no wrong answers, only answers your publicist might wince at. Answer as many as you like (three or more is perfect), and keep each one short, anywhere from a sentence to about 100 words.
	1.	You're allowed to keep one cursed object from horror fiction or film. Which one do you take home, and what everyday job do you put it to?
	2.	Which horror death would be the most embarrassing to explain to your mum?
	3.	Your house is haunted, but the ghost only has one complaint about you. What is it?
	4.	Which horror villain would make the worst flatmate, and what does the first passive-aggressive note you stick on the fridge say?
	5.	A demon offers to write one scene of your next book in exchange for your soul. Which scene do you hand over, and is it worth it?
Along with your answers, please send:
	•	A one-line bio
	•	Your latest or upcoming book, with a link
	•	An author photo we can use
	•	Your social handles, so we can tag you when it goes live
The deadline is Friday 16 October. Just reply to this email with your answers.
Thanks for playing along. It should be a lot of fun, and a nice way to get your name and book in front of our readers in the scariest week of the year.
Best wishes,
Jim McLeod
