I am this many stories shy of completing my run of Doc Savage Bantam reprints. I scored the last three omnibus editions today and these five books are all that remain.

A list of ten Doc Savage stories, two per book, that I have yet to collect: The Golden Man/Peril in the North; The Laugh of Death/The King of Terror; The Three Wild Men/The Fiery Menace; Devils of the Deep/The Headless Men; and The Goblins/The Secret of the Su. If you see these in the wild, let me know would you?

This is the iconic cover painting for The Man of Bronze, the first Doc Savage adventure, by James Bama.

I really dig Batman Caped Crusader. I’m going to need a physical copy at some point, too.

This cover by Michael W. Kaluta, in particular, but all the Batman Family books are among my fave. I love the Dollar Comics format. And the other is essentially a tabloid-format Brave and Bold that rocks your socks off.

My Criterion Collection release of Moonrise Kingdom is here and I'm anxious to watch it tonight.

Suzy from Moonrise Kingdom watches us from the lighthouse with a pair of binoculars in hand. Her dress rather stylishly matches the burnt orange color of the lighthouse and the rail. She's always on trend.

The average temperature for September (so far) in my corner of Kansas is 99.2. More than 16 degrees above the average for the entire month last year. Today it's 98. Tomorrow (day 11 of the heatwave) is forecast to be 102 then we get a break. August was only 3 degrees warmer than last year. #kswx

Four more Doc Savage Omnibus collections acquired (#s 3,6,7, and 10). I now have 156 of the original 182 supersagas as reprinted by Bantam books. I'm down to needing 6 of the doubles and 3 more omnibii. I've been a fan all my life and completing this run has been a dream from the beginning.

Cover of the 8th Bantam reprint of the Doc Savage story, the Land of Terror. Doc, his shirt in tatters, levels a strange weapon as an attacking dinosaur.

Cover of the Marvel Comics adaptation of the first Doc Savage story, which launched a short-lived series. He is wielding a steel girder against people shooting at him. His shirt is ripped open and in tatters.
