The future prosperity of our country depends on more people having a decent chance now. It relies on our social security system providing young people with the financial stability and personalised support they need to thrive. It’s time for the government to invest in a better future for all of us.

Believe it or not, the rate of Universal Credit has never been set based on the actual cost of life’s essentials. It’s time for that to change. Our health and wellbeing, independence, ability to work is all dependent on us being able to afford to buy food, pay our bills and travel when we need to.

Do we need to be more innovative to change minds in parliament? Research and reports give MPs one part of the picture, but they fall short when it comes to MPs understanding what it really feels like for the people behind the statistics. 1/3 www.turn2us.org.uk/about-us/new...

The Timms Review interim report shows that over 90% of the evidence they received describes negative PIP experiences. Many disabled people find PIP unfair and inconsistent. And that means people don’t trust that it will be there for them when they need it. www.turn2us.org.uk/about-us/new... 1/2 ⬇️
Pale Blue background with a bold heading "The Timms Review so far". This is then followed by lighter font text "90% of the evidence submitted shows people are having bad experiences when claiming PIP. But the Government have an opportunity to change that."
There is then a dark blue box with a subheading and three bullet points "Final recommendations must focus on: 1. Adequate financial support. 2. Fair and accurate assessments. 3. Training assessort to better understand disabilities and illnesses".
This post is then ended with a single line of light font text "Read more on our website.".

We’ve joined with disabled people, organisations and charities to write to the co-chairs of the Timms Review. See our joint open letter with our recommendations for the steering group here: www.turn2us.org.uk/about-us/news-an… #TimmsReview
Text asks if PIP and financial insecurity experiences will be heard in the Timms Review. Below, two people, one in a wheelchair, converse at a table.Text on orange background about PIP claimants facing financial insecurity, underrepresentation, and potential impact of review changes. Text: Most PIP claimants have experience of financial insecurity, with 28% of disabled people living in poverty. Without clear plans on what's next, we are concerned that the voices of people who have lived experience of receiving PIP and financial insecurity may be underrepresented. This group will be particularly affected by any changes to PIP that come out of the Review.Quote on orange background about PIP's importance for safety and housing, highlighting unease due to lack of representation. By Roxie, Z2K Expert. Text: "For people like me, PIP is not an abstract policy issue. It is what keeps us safe, housed, warm, and able to cope. When a process is presented as fair, transparent and grounded in lived experience, but I cannot see people who reply on PIP to survive reflected at steering level, it creates a deep unease."
