#LGBTQWriteAThon I don’t really like Harmony’s plot line so far. I’ve learned more about her but it’s not really working. So my goal this week is to rework Harmony’s scenes maybe show off her outlaw side a bit more. Add some more conflict with the other character she’s forced to work with.

#LGBTQWriteAThon 3 I restructured the story so far. Threw out a bunch of stuff I wrote and rewrote a couple chapters. Up to almost 11k words now. Yay! About 10% of my word goal. Pretty productive week, I’m happy with how it’s progressing.

#LGBTQWriteAThon 2 I'm writing the first draft of Harmony wip. Its a sci-fantasy story about a psychic named Harmony and her AI Delaney. She meets Calytrix who's immune to her abilities. Together they try to escape Agents Fransen and Dence, find Caly's mother, and stop Dr. Kaufman.

#AwesomeCharacters Delaney can take a beating(she’s an AI inhabiting a space ship 😜) For humans: Dr. Kaufman is durable. He takes a rifle butt to the face and still comes back to shoot Melody in the leg to keep her from escaping. Delaney gets the medal 🏅 because Kaufman is a bad guy.

A snippet of text from my untitled SciFi wip. This POV is from the protagonist’s mother and a flash back.

The air within Delaney was tense. Melody slammed her fist on the cracked leather arm rest. "No, I only agreed to come along to rescue my daughter."

"We understand you are frustrated." The person on the screen said. Nikitas might be the most frustrating person she had ever met. So yeah, she was a little frustrated. "You know that station inside and out, hell, you helped build it."

"I've given you schematics, I've shown you every hidden nook and cranny of that station. I've told you everything. Now, while you and your friends do whatever the hell it is you want to do on that station I'm going to rescue my fucking daughter. Don't get in my way." Melody slammed the disconnect call button. The whole screen moved under the force of her hand.

"Without the assistance of Nikitas and their compatriots your chance of success is slim at best," Delaney said, her voice was calm but held a note of caution.

I’ve taken a different approach to writing this story. I have a handful of POV characters and each has their own document. It lets me hop between POVs and write whatever I’m feeling like. Then I’ll be able to piece them together when I’m done. #WritingCommunity #WriteSky

Finished a book this week. These Burning Stars by Bethany Jacobs. What a fantastic story! The second I finished the last page I jumped in my car and drove to the library to get the second book in the trilogy. I was looking for intrigue and suspense and I got it! 10 out of 10 for me. #BookSky

The credits just rolled on the last episode of Andor. This show was everything I love about Star Wars. I am 100% going to watch it again. First I’m going to watch Rogue One for the first time in years. I wish they would make more like this instead of running back to the space wizards again.

#QueerWriters Saturday: Well I didn’t get to the inciting incident this week. I did manage to write 3 scenes and plot out another 5 in detail. Which includes the inciting incident so that’s a win at least. This is the first time I’ve attempted multi POV and it’s a lot of work.

A couple years ago my mom gave me a box filled with all her favourite recipes handwritten on cards. I have made the banana bread recipe half a dozen times and it has collapsed in on itself every time. I’ve been trying to figure out why. The recipe she gave me before didn’t have that problem. #baking

#SummerOfStories 10 I’m able to listen to music or podcasts at work so I listened to a few writing podcasts. Half the time I’d be too busy day dreaming about my story to hear what they were saying. The other big one has been the monthly prompt games. I don’t think I would have finished otherwise.

I used to answer "plotter" before I saw what other people meant by "outline" 🤣 I have to know the destination I'm writing towards (beats, setpieces, "mie" for lack of a better term), but I leave myself a lot of flexibility when spinning out the connective tissue. #SummerOfStories

#SummerOfStories 7 I am a plantster ish. Magic and Ash started with the scene of her falling down a cliff. Then I put a very rough one page outline together of each plot point I wanted to hit. Save the cat style. Then I just kinda started writing and plotting as I went. Like this gif:
