Well the Pinehurst Station opening event exceeded all expectations. This many people showing up on a Wednesday afternoon is for an infill station is genuinely impressive. The Boop line took about an hour 😳

Apparently there is only one place in all of Seattle you can build a protected intersection.

It's fun to read comments about how my soon-to-be most used Link station (Pinehurst) was unnecessary, a waste of money, in the middle of nowhere, etc.

A random person should not be able to know your work schedule because of how loud your car is pulling in/out of the parking lot.

Actually surprising it's that high. Also wtf is going on in Turks and Caicos?

The thing with Minneapolis is that they make their waterfronts public parks lined with long and continuous all ages bike trails. Here in Seattle (outside of downtown) we let a few rich homeowners take that away from us. If they can’t play nice, they should be eminent domained lol

in earnest though: noise pollution is legitimately a very serious public health issue that does not ever get enough attention despite the extremely well documented direct harm that it causes, let alone how aggressively antisocial this behavior is. no exaggeration, cube all of these cars instantly.

Pinehurst is a feeder station for Bitter Lake and Lake City. Seattle will never redevelop Jackson Park because ordinance requires an equal area of land in the vicinity to allocate as park space that doesn't exist.

I think it's nice that data center foes are finally bringing attention to this matter because for decades we've been pretending that > 60dB overnight noise from cars on roads is acceptable to people living in apartments. I guess when that sound level finally hits exurban white folks?

If Seattle were even as dense as Vancouver today, it would have 1,250,928 people. Former Mayor Harrell's "OneSeattle" plan claims growth forecasts show Seattle won't reach 1 million until mid-century, which is just pathetic honestly.

"But but but but but but but but other cities have fare gates" is not a serious argument. The safety claims are the product of BART needed to spin its expenditures and the posting of terminally online dorks with poor socialization.

Most frequented examples are the Interurban Trail at 125th st. and the Burke-Gilman at Brooklyn Ave. Only rationale for stops signs I can think of is to protect pedestrians on the sidewalks crossing the path, but conflicts with cars seem much more likely.

Seattle is a very racist city, and one way it manifests is when white people choose to take a specific *political* faction at their word when they claim to represent an entire, monolithically aligned racial group—typically because they agree with that faction's political views.
