Such a strange graphic from the German Environment Agency, identifying similarities & apparent distinctions in street design needs of children compared to older adults. Forgetting 1. Disabled children exist 2. Disabled older adults also exist. Not just adults who grew old.
Graphic that apparently shows the shared requirements of street design of older adults and children. Older adults have distinct needs for seating, toilets, and barrier-free design apparently. And children have distinct needs of clear regulations, and play and learning apparently.

apparently these raised crosswalks at Rainier/I-90 are the first WSDOT has installed for highway ramp crossings. & the speed decreases are impressive. wish they'd have measured pedestrian, scooter and bike volumes at these crossings before/after to be able to show how safer crossings induce use.

I don't think a sticker from the police saying it's 'not allowed' highlights the dangers of pavement parking to drivers. I think it highlights to drivers that they can do something that's not allowed, with full knowledge of the police, and face zero consequences.
A FB post by Manchester city council. Showing an Audi parking fully on the pavement with a GMP sticker that says 'pavement parking is not allowed'. Text says

"As part of #roadsafetyweek2025, our neighbourhoods teams have been out with our partners in GMP to identify areas of problem pavement parking.

We're taking this opportunity to highlight to drivers who park on pavements the dangers they pose to anyone using the footways, but in particular those people who have prams or are wheelchair users.

Think before you park, and don't force people to have to move around your vehicle into the road!"
