Put it this way: pro wrestling and WWE are the same thing in my brain. It’s not AEW doing a wrestling show, it’s AEW doing their version of a WWE show. That is how it reads to someone who only grew up with one way of seeing it. Like if you only watch western animation, anime is weird by comparison.

All I’m saying is that, if I had not literally gotten into WWE as a non-critically thinking child, I have no idea if I would be a fan or not. WWE is a thing I enjoy with a LOOOOOOOOOT of caveats. I can’t be 5 again, that’s kinda my point. Given how pro wrestling is, and has historically been, I genuinely wonder if I would have become a WWE fan now with no history. I only watched it cause my dad did, it was just on and I blindly accepted it, but I’m a completely different person now.
