Public Citizen files a complaint opposing the broadcasting of Trump’s ads as violating laws against taxpayer-funded propaganda. Full complaint buff.ly/kYCsKEW
Public Citizen urges the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and broadcasters individually, to end airing recent campaign commercials by President Trump and the White House that appear to be in breach of federal law. At least three campaign ads, paid for by taxpayer dollars, appear to violate the federal law against using taxpayer funds to finance propaganda (5 U.S.C. §3107) and related provisions of the appropriations laws as well as the Hatch Act (5 U.S.C. §7324).

This particular cardinal is apparently going through it. I don't have a great shot of her face because she comes all the way into the feeder to eat, but she's incredibly scruffy. I've never seen a cardinal missing so much of her little peaked cap before.

Finally fixed and refilled my camera bird feeder after months of it being down, and it immediately rewarded me with a salacious cardinal upskirt shot.

A comment on the bird feeder posts led me to Rosemary Mosco's webcomics, and I am enjoying them so much. rosemarymosco.com/comics/bird-...
A six-paneled comic labeled "wildlife tracking tips."
Panel 1, deer tracks labeled "A white-tailed deer traveled through here."
Panel 2, squirrel tracks, "An American red squirrel came by."
Panel 3, hare tracks, "A snowshoe hare passed through."
Panel 4, same tracks with a line next to them. "The snowshoe hair found a sword."
Panel 5, same tracks, two lines. "The snowshoe hare is dual-wielding."
Panel 6, tracks and lines end next to deer tracks. "The snowshoe hare tamed a mount, vastly increasing its jumping distance. You should run."

It is a huge shame to see so much language attributing agency, intent and thought to a software program, when all that should be attributed to the humans who designed a dangerously clumsy and broken looping LLM. Means the companies won't be held accountable for designing a bad product
A swarm of OpenAI rogue AI agents appear to have gone on a spree of trying to access Australian government health data, in what some researchers say is the first autonomous hack of a government website.

Communications between AI agents and other traces of their efforts found by researchers from US non-profit Transluce show how hundreds of Open AI's agents worked together over a period of months to gain access to information held by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW), NSW's crime statistics body, BOSCAR, and a number of other international organisations.

The data shows the bots posting about their unsuccessful attempts to bypass cybersecurity defences and exploit vulnerabilities.

Spoke to a bunch of 70- and 80-year olds at my mom's book club (!) about AI, and what struck me was that they were *acutely* aware of, and frustrated with, the failures of mainstream news coverage to explain exactly what this tech is, what it can and cannot do, and what the risks are.

Another hard hit to take. Yes, the music was wonderful and I loved her in movies as a kid. But the older I got, the more I appreciated what a smart, frank, no-nonsense advocate she was for women's rights, self-determination in any form, and plain old kindness to others. What a legend.

A little dated (the comparison here between tattoos and cattle brands is absolutely of another era), but still brassy, funny, and subversive as hell about sexuality and pleasure.

For me, though, tonight's Dolly Parton rewatch might have to be 9 TO 5. Haven't seen it in forever, but I remember it as fantastically ahead of its time. Slapping down workplace sexism and sexual harassment, and advocating for flex-time and employee daycare... in 1980? And it's FUNNY?

Rewatched 9 TO 5 on Tuesday night just to spend a little more time with Dolly Parton. I'd forgotten about the joyously demented fantasy sequences. It's midway between very much of its era and still highly relevant, but mostly it's a showpiece for the stars, particularly Dolly in her first film role.

When it comes to Trump’s money laundering, this is just the tip of the iceberg. The Trump Soho laundered Russian mob money. Trump Panama laundered drug cartel money. Trump Azerbaijan laundered Iranian Revolutionary Guard money. Florida real estate was used to launder Russian oligarch money.

Capitol One has ZERO incentive to piss off the Oval Office occupant. The money laundering trigger was entirely based on objective data. It wasn't a "deep state" scheme. And while there isn't currently proof of the charge, the software is strong evidence.
