People spend their lives living off poverty wages, are unable to pay for ‘Private’ pension provision, and are then left living a life of poverty in retirement!! That doesn’t sound like a fair way of doing things to me!!

Went to a school designed for #autistic kids. Literally made me cry it’s so great. So many adjustments. Meanwhile government saying autistic kids should be in the regular schools. So bloody ignorant and dysfunctional, that makes me cry as well.

I'll repost this. The triple lock is being weaponised, using it as an issue to divide the generations. If it's dropped, the real losers will be the future pensioners. For a currency issuing government keeping any cohort in poverty is is a political choice.

Those calling for state pension cut are silent on their tax perks. Gross tax relief on pension contributions £83.9bn. 14% went to 1.1m additional rate tax payers. 57% to 6.6m higher rate (40%) payers. 29% went to 30.4m basic rate (20%) payers. Equalizing it at 20% for all leaves £14.5bn spare.

Neoliberals have neutered direct state investment in infrastructure. Everything is privatised, state guarantees profits. UK languishes at or near the bottom of the OECD league for investment in productive assets. China invests over 41% of its GDP in productive assets, India 34.3%, UK 17.9%.

A totally misleading report. The yield on a gilt traded in the bond market is not the 'borrowing cost' to the government. This is fixed when the bond is sold and paid at set intervals throughout its duration. Why does the BBC keep getting something so basic so wrong? www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
