Additionally, these AIs are run by private companies. They are not without bias or beyond influence. We saw Musk interfere to ensure his bot became more right-wing. What's to stop a Microsoft AI "summarising" a report on the corporate tax rate in a way that omits any suggestions of increases?

There's a good faith and bad faith interpretation of the Minister's removal of targets. The bad faith interpretation is that the government have cynically removed targets so we lack a metric by which to judge their failures. The good faith interpretation is that the minister is just incompetent.

All of us want to believe that our children are safe no matter where they are. It is also true that we want a community where every child is safe and cared for by systems that work, whether they live in care, in the community or are seeking international protection.

Discworld QOTD, from Men at Arms
The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money.

Take boots, for example. He earned thirty-eight dollars a month plus allowances. A really good pair of leather boots cost fifty dollars. But an affordable pair of boots, which were sort of OK for a season or two and then leaked like hell when the cardboard gave out, cost about ten dollars.

Those were the kind of boots Vimes always bought, and wore until the soles were so thin that he could tell where he was in Ankh-Morpork on a foggy night by the feel of the cobbles.

But the thing was that good boots lasted for years and years. A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that'd still be keeping his feet dry in ten years' time, while the poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet.

This was the Captain Samuel Vimes 'Boots' theory of socioeconomic unfairness.

KNEECAP STATEMENT

14,000 babies are about to die of starvation in Gaza, with food sent by the world sitting on the other side of a wall, and once again the British establishment is focused on us.

We deny this ‘offence’ and will vehemently defend ourselves.

This is political policing.

This is a carnival of distraction.

We are not the story. Genocide is.

As they profit from genocide, they use an ‘anti-terror law’ against us for displaying a flag thrown on stage.

A charge not serious enough to even warrant their ‘crown court’, instead a court that doesn’t have a jury. What’s the objective? To restrict our ability to travel.

To prevent us speaking to young people across the world.

To silence voices of compassion.

To prosecute artists who dare speak out.

Instead of defending innocent people, or the principles of international law they claim to uphold, the powerful in Britain have abetted slaughter and famine in Gaza, just as they did in Ireland for centuries. Then, like now, they claim justification.

The IDF units they arm and fly spy plane missions for are the real terrorists, the whole world can see it.WE STAND PROUDLY WITH THE PEOPLE.

YOU STAND COMPLICIT WITH THE WAR CRIMINALS.

WE ARE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF HISTORY.

YOU ARE NOT.

WE WILL FIGHT YOU IN YOUR COURT.

WE WILL WIN.
