Yesterday marked the anniversary of the first crossing of the English Channel by an aeroplane with Louis Blériot on 25 July 1909 in his Blériot XI. The original aircraft that achieved this feat still exists and is on display in the church of the "Musée des Arts et Métiers" in Paris.
