Two industries have boomed during the war in Sudan gold and livestock. The RSF has looted more than 60% of the 11 million livestock during its siege of the Gezira. Gold has been written abt but this livestock looting is major especially in the middle of a famine/food insecurity.

My latest for @theglobeandmail.com, the Ethiopian army has repurposed a stadium in the country's Amhara region, as an artillery base to fire at rebel held villages. I documented the deaths of six civilians in two villages hit by shells in November. The 15 month old conflict rages on.

Has to be said over & over: Yelling "Free Palestine!" doesn't exonerate anyone for justifying/downplaying bloodshed elsewhere. Wearing a keffiyeh shouldn't grant a Bashar al-Assad atrocity denier a clean slate. Uphold principles, conduct background checks. Reject selective human rights activism.
