A study found that there was a dramatic spike in cancer diagnoses when Americans hit age 66. Why? Because they finally qualified for Medicare and could afford to see a doctor. People should e able to to the doctor when they need to, not when they age into coverage. It's time for MFA.

Too many external stakeholders have their dirty hands in Sudan fueling the war. It is not purely a Sudanese problem.

Please pay attention to this information Nisrin is sharing. You need to keep eyes on Sudan. I couldn't get past the paywall, but the gist is that the United States military, as well as the evil company Boeing, are complicit in the Sudanese genocide. Something to know about your own complicity.

While the world’s best cyclist rides the Tour de France bearing UAE sponsorship, the Emirates are supplying the worst terror force in the world apart from the IDF. Now we know about their US-owned contractor, CADG, with operations here in South Africa. They must be investigated urgently.

Seriously! Care about Sudan for itself in its own right! Its crisis deserves that! Don’t just use it as a rhetorical tool when you haven’t lent Sudan any actual solidarity!

It disgusts me that Sudan is once again surfacing through the whataboutist politics of Zi@nists who don’t care about Sudan but are trying to distract from their own genocide. It’s partly a failure of the lack of internationalism within the N American left that they are able to do so.

We witnessed genocide in El Fashir, Darfur last October perpetrated by the UAE-backed RSF and bcs they got away with it, we are watching this violence possibly repeat itself in another part of Sudan, the city of El Obeid, where my mother spent part of her childhood. #KeepEyesOnSudan

I wrote a piece a few years ago as a sort of primer that tries to historicize and contextualize the current counterrevolutionary war in Sudan. It’s basic and is meant to give folks who haven’t been following closely a sense of what and why it is happening.

The left does not need priests of purity
If the South African left cannot engage the messy, contradictory spaces where working class politics are actually happening, then it cannot lead.

The broader historical and geopolitical context is also obviously enlightening and don’t want to try to universalize the particular, but, damn, a lot of lessons in this for everybody
Screenshot of the article with the following highlighted: “This promise to take care of kin—as well as neighbors and strangers—is at the very basis of the kind of radical organizing that builds community across ideological, class, and ethnic divides, divides that have been instrumentalized by state and business elites to capture resources and power and to “enforce separability” in a way that naturalizes state violence”

As someone tired with coverage of Sudan lamenting the lack of reporting while being itself surface-level and occasional, this is much more comprehensive and *explains* much more, while still easily accessible for the uninitiated. Well worth your time.
