It’s a simple fact that Democrats could have filled Emil Bove’s seat with a qualified lawyer who would have been the first Muslim appeals court judge. The GOP responded with rank Islamophobia, and Dems waved the white flag. I expect more of my elected officials than this. If you don’t, that’s on you

Emil Bove's confirmation was only possible because Democrats caved to a vile right-wing smear campaign of Adeel Mangi, who would have been the first Muslim appeals court judge, when Biden nominated him for the same seat last year. Absolutely disgraceful. Bove's confirmation is on them, too.

It’s the narcissist’s playbook. 1. Do something bad/stupid 2. Blame someone else (“They (or you) did this/made me do this!”) 3. Loudly claim (usually falsely) to have fixed the problem 4. Take credit for 3 (but never blame for 1) and say “Look what I did for you! You should be grateful!”

The Trump administration is comfortable disappearing people to foreign gulags partially because the Trumpis Justices on the Roberts Court have enabled him at every turn, rewriting the Constitution when necessary to accommodate Trump's lawlessness www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...
this lawlessness is happening precisely because the nation’s highest court condoned it in advance. The right-wing justices on the Roberts Court have repeatedly rewritten the Constitution to Donald Trump’s benefit, first by nullifying the anti-insurrection clause in the Fourteenth Amendment, and then by inventing an imperial presidential immunity that is nowhere in the text of the document. It is no surprise that Trump is now acting as though he is above the law. After all, the Roberts Court all but granted him permission.
