My front yard today. Over the last few years we have been ditching lawn and invasive plants and replacing them with native plants and trees. It amazes me how many new butterflies, birds, and animals we see. Don't be afraid to do it, even if just a little, in your yard. #nativeplants #butterflies

Hello 👋 I adore Owls so today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is: #AwesomeOwls 😊🦉 Any owl from the two owl families. Here's a gorgeous Long-eared owl that I was fortunate enough to see 🤎 📷 🪶 Alt: #BirdNameG any bird whose common name starts with the letter G! Happy Thursday 🕊️ #Nature #Photography #ECK
A photograph showing a long-eared owl that is perched at an angle on a textured tree branch, facing right against a blurred green background. The owl features a prominent facial disc with a white, vertical stripe between its vivid orange eyes, a black beak, and long, dark ear tufts which are flattened against its head. Its plumage is a dense mix of brown, black, grey, and tan feathers, with a warm rufous coloration visible on its chest. The owl's talons are gripped firmly onto the rough bark of the vertical branch, and its lower wings are partially extended downward, showing a barred pattern of tan and dark brown bands. The owl had been hunting in the adjacent fields just before dusk and its feathers underneath are slightly wet. His gaze is fixed intently in to the distance ready to launch in flight again.

Two bumblebees on a purple thistle in a lush green meadow. One bee clings to the thistle flowers, gathering nectar and pollen, while another hovers nearby in mid-flight, its wings blurred by movement. The bees’ black-and-yellow banded bodies contrast beautifully with the vivid purple blooms and soft green, out-of-focus background.

If a tree falls in the forest there are other trees listening.💚 ― Peter Wohlleben, The Hidden Life of Trees #ForestFriday #scape #forestbathing #trees #rocks and #moss #photography #EastCoastKin
A sun-drenched, lush forest scene. The image is filled with various shades of green, from the bright, translucent leaves of deciduous trees to the deep, dark needles of evergreens.
The lower half of the photo is dominated by a large, rounded gray boulder almost entirely blanketed in soft, emerald-green moss. A fallen, mossy tree trunk rests horizontally across the top of this boulder, angling slightly downward toward the left. At the base of the rock, vibrant green ferns and small leafy plants, including a tiny oak sapling, sprout from the forest floor amidst a scattering of brown, dried leaves.
Behind the mossy boulder, the forest floor is a dense carpet of low-lying green vegetation. Several slender tree trunks rise vertically, some with smooth gray bark and others with rougher textures. Sunlight filters through the canopy, creating bright, glowing patches of light and contrasting deep shadows on the ground and tree trunks.
The upper portion of the image shows a thick canopy of leaves and branches. On the left, branches with broad, bright green leaves reach into the frame, their surfaces appearing almost yellow where the sunlight hits them. To the right, the drooping, feathery boughs of spruce or fir trees catch the light, creating a delicate, shimmering effect against the darker interior of the woods. The overall atmosphere is peaceful, cool, and teeming with life.
