Finally, after many years putting it off, I have managed to get my website updated. All Scotland’s Caledonian forest for now, and a few new shots mixed into the 4 galleries, including this one a couple winters back www.kennymuir.com

Another favourite image for #WorldPhotographyDay is this stunning view in NW #Scotland taken in November 2021. Photography allows me (and makes me - it's a compulsion now!) to travel to see such places. When you get light and views like this, the world feels good :)
A mountain with light snow on the top above steep sides with some pink scree slopes. There are blue/grey clouds above, with tiny patches of brightness on the horizon, and below a patch of sun shines on the autumnal hillsides at the foot of the mountain and looks bright orange.

Rewilding isn't a side project of the climate fight. It is the fight. This great man makes the case plainly: "the rewilding of the world will suck enormous amounts of carbon from the air and lock it away in expanding wilderness.” That's not a hope, it's an observed pattern across ecosystems.

Sometimes the light makes it feel like you’re going to be beamed up into a UFO!
Beams of light shine through a beautiful ancient laurel tree in Madeira, high up on the mountain plateau. Moss covers the tree, working together to condense the clouds into rain - in this ‘cloud forest’ ecosystem.

Down in Ardnamurchan last week, and amongst other delights, was looking at the Atlantic oak woods that stretch from Strontian to Glenborrodale along the sides of Loch Sunart, Scotland's rainforest. If you've not been, it's something to put on your to-do list. Pretty spectacular.

It was nice to get out with the camera again at the weekend out west. The greens were looking fresh in this section of Atlantic rainforest. I liked the ivy on this particular oak. The midges were horrific - they are not supposed to arrive before June. . #scottishhighlands #oakwoodland
