On my way to Eureka Dunes, I passed Crater Sulfur Mine in Death Valley's Last Chance Range. Discovered in 1917, this private inholding is "cherry-stemmed" out of park boundaries and outside park jurisdiction. It was once the largest sulfur deposit west of the Mississippi. #deathvalley #mining
