The law says CNZ / the Arts Council must set guidelines for the allocation of funding. I asked for those guidelines. They do not exist.

I'm still fucking mad that the last Labour government just decided not to defend their own fucking policy and kept reshaping it to please an opposition who'd never be happy - and they're still so cowed by that experience that they've been near silent on the developing and huge Cost Of Water Crisis.

Hmmmm. "The meeting began with a recommendation to add a speed hump on one half of Deans Ave, and ended with elected representatives plotting how they could convince a different community board to eliminate the other half."

I'm surprised more people aren't aware of the speed and scale of local government reform underway ‐ by the time they realize, it'll all be a done deal. Of course, who knows how the election outcome will impact the process.

Scene is women's public toilets. A woman in a shirt saying 'TERF PATROL" is on a ladder peering over a locked door into a cubicle. She's saying "Just checking your genitalia to make sure you're not one of those creepy perverts who lurk in women's toilets"

The opening paragraphs of a Facebook post by Simon Watts MP (Minister of Climate Change, Minister of Local Government):
"I've written to mayors and councillors across New Zealand outlining my concerns about the use of extreme climate forecasting scenarios that can drive unnecessary costs onto ratepayers.
Kiwis expect councils to make practical, evidence-based decisions that are proportionate to the risks they face, not default to worst-case assumptions that can unnecessarily increase rates and delay investment,
That's why I've directed officials to take stock of..."

National isn't being PULLED to the right by NZF or Act, they are CHOOSING to go in that direction. Yes, you can partly put the blame on Luxon being a wet paper towel at the negotiating table, but really it's because this is what National want to do, but never want to speak of it.

Pro-tip for any budding politicians: Saying "It's a distraction" when your opponents begin a policy directly targeting a minority, one which will reverse your own governments gains for that minority, tells everyone in or supportive of that minority that you didn't give a fuck then and you don't now.
