And yeah, sure, sometimes it just never stopped raining, but it's a landscape that wears it well. Looking brooding and mysterious while wet.

If the north Wales tourism board would like to hire me, I'm in love with the place. I'm a shit photographer, with an old iphone mini, in a moving car, and I got things like this:

The narrow road disappears into the horizon. A valley lurches off down to the left, green and lush. Hills bump across the horizon line, behind which there's a glimpse of sea. It's gorgeous.

A ship rests at the side of the road. Behind it, browns of grasses. Behind that, layers of mountains in fading shades of blue, like a AAA computer game trying to preserve memory while still looking stunning.

Spent a good chunk of the weekend with Zero Company. It's REALLY good, and is nailing the horror show of XCOM combat, but the base side is much more chill. I've seen complaints about that. It does things differently. That's fine! It's *good* that games aren't all just reskins of each other!

Taking a break from gamescom, so I’m in the gym (of course). One of the staff members came up to me to compliment my squat, which made my day. Also got to pull the ultimate flex of admitting that it was actually a deload session while I’m travelling. The dream.

Beloved husband makes me laugh. His emotional support colour is apparently black. So occasionally (often) he looks like the dudes in the lift in Captain America. (He is the polar opposite of them, though)

Olivia’s handsome husband is wearing nothing but black practical clothing, plus (black) baseball cap and face mask. My suitcase adds a rare pop of colour (bright blue).

Beloved husband says ‘ugh I feel weird posing for a photo’. Here is lack of (black) jacket means his octopus tattoo is on show, which makes him more ‘hail hydra’, not less.
He is, however, very much not a Hail Hydra type. No fascists here, thanks.

Then there is the claim that ADHD is a social construct, not a neurodevelopmental condition. This is something Pemberton concludes after talking to neuroscientist Katya Rubia at King’s College London. Rubia says that while there is evidence of differences between the brains of people with ADHD and neurotypical people at the group level, it isn’t possible to diagnose ADHD from a brain scan.
She is right, of course. You can’t diagnose ADHD from brain scans. The same can be said for most, if not all, psychiatric and neurodevelopmental conditions. Most of these, like ADHD, are diagnosed by assessing symptoms and the effect they have on a person’s everyday ability to function. “My interview was hours long and they cherry-picked the bits that suited their push for presenting ADHD as a myth,” Rubia told New Scientist. “Biased programs like this one that push their view of ADHD as a mythical entity are irresponsible and will have detrimental effects.”

Quite apart from all the other problems, I've never actually heard anyone articulate a vision of what mass GenAI adoption could look like that actually sounds... good? Either for me specifically or society as a whole. Almost like it's a massive waste of time and resources.
