aaaaaaaaaaa it's always a tiny minority of extremely motivated nutjobs who silently take over and ruin everything. and i forgot about this article because it was from a million years ago i mean almost THREE years ago 🙃
excerpt from the propublica article: "Law students were also fueling this new movement: In the spring of 1982, three of them founded the Federalist Society, a debating and networking group for conservatives and libertarians who felt ostracized on their campuses. Scalia and Bork spoke at the group’s first conference, at Yale Law School. There weren’t enough people to fill the school’s auditorium, so they held it in a classroom."

i know there's a zillion threads on this platform whining about AI (including my own) but i'm still going to add my two and a third cents anyways skipthedishes now has AI in its search for grocery stores? what the fuck. stop doing this ffs
skipthedishes prompt for a grocery store with an (enabled) toggle for "AI mode", which puts placeholder text in the input prompt. the text reads "I need bread, milk, and eggs"
000
lexer @theshrine.ca · 14/08/2026
tada. here it is. thank god AI is somehow magically immune to having its input well poisoned unlike traditional search engines! absolutely nothing can go wrong with a tool that's ultimately controlled by a psycho neonazi billionaire. absolutely nothing!
same techbroguy following up with "which is why i stopped using Google search last year and switched completely to Grok for the latest live information"

this techbroguy isn't wrong, in that google search has been churned into a pile of useless mush. but i guarantee you the next sentence will be...
some ai techbro whining about google search in a tweet: "another reason Google Search is barely usable now and why you should stop using it. it literally lists Sam Altman as having died on august 12, 2026. Horrible"

sam altman tweeting "one of the things i like most about the openai team is how focused they are on our customers and users succeeding, and how much they celebrate it"

i know this is a ridiculous thought experiment but let's just say that ICE officers aren't a pack of psychotic morons and are well trained in the usage of these things. these requirements are beyond absurd for them to be safely deployed in the chaos that is a protest. #AbolishICE
a page from the spec sheet describing how to properly use G.L.O.V.E.s: no more than two simutaneously making contact, and avoid the head, face, throat, chest, and groin areas; approx. 15 seconds duration is recommended per application

i looked up the specs on these things, and they well more than capable of pumping out enough juice to induce cardiac arrest. and i'm sure all of the very well-trained ICE cops will attempt to use these as responsibly as possible to prevent such from happening. www.aljazeera.com/news/2026/8/...
chart from a spec sheet for the G4 and G5 G.L.O.V.E. products. G4 column lists the maximum voltage at 210-380V, the maximum current at 0.9-1.5 amps (NOT milliamps!), pulse duration 100-115 microseconds, pulse charge 84-125 micro coulombs, and pulse repetition rate at 29.7 - 30.8 "pps" (assumed to mean "pulses per second"). the G5 spec are similar but shifted overall to be lower (e.g. G5 has 0.7-1.2 amps)
