You mean like all the moderates currently in power who have done absolutely nothing to stymy the rise of fascism? Those moderates?

Rosemary's Baby does something very few movies pull off which is to have a character react exactly how the audience wants them to react and STILL have the villains one step ahead. No "You idiot, don't go in the basement!" moment

Got 7s across the board (with one 8!) for my true crime neo-noir on @theblcklst.bsky.social with the best write-up I’ve ever received Read it here: blcklst.com/projects/178...
IRREVOCABLE TRUST. Written by Eric Grant. Logline: Based on a true story. A Detroit detective falls for the wife of a murder victim, trapping him in a conspiracy that threatens his freedom—and his life.Prospects
This screenplay has potential to translate well to the big screen or function nicely on a streaming platform. In a higher budget production, the chases and noir setpieces provide strong opportunities to evoke NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN or even SIN CITY in a theatrical release. However, the strong characterization and dialogue provide enough on the page for strong actors to sink their teeth into solid roles and make a character-driven, lower budget adaptation shine (e.g. THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI). In the current marketplace, the diverse array of players in the piece stands out as attractive given its refreshing balance of ethnicity and gender in what is historically a predominately white and male centered genre. On the whole, strong writing and characters are likely to stand out to filmmakers and talent alike, making this a real candidate for attraction and attachment.

Hollywood loves multi-hypenates and people who can "do it all" unless you're a writer who can write both genres. That's illegal. Pick one genre. Never cross genres. How could they possibly know where to staff you if you can do both??
Q: Can I mix genres between my two scripts, e.g. submit one comedy script and one drama script?
A: No. If you are a comedy writer, submit two half-hour comedy scripts. If you are a drama (or dramedy) writer, submit two hour-long drama scripts.

Awareness is our purpose—curiosity and art and discovery. That's the everything. I don't think we should let anyone tell us any different. We should reject the doomed submerged life they demand we live, and embrace the radical act of surfacing to life. www.the-reframe.com/the-everythi...
