What chills me more is that the Atlantic article's author not only scanned Kundieza's work, but also scanned 25 years' worth of Caine Prize awardees to check whether they were human. A prize for African writers. It feels like the literary equivalent of doing a non-consensual genital check.

I'm aware of this. I'm talking about DC Universe Legacies, which laid down the history of the Post-Infinite Crisis DCU just before the New 52 hit. I don't recall any Post-Crisis but Pre-Infinite Crisis material placing those events there, that's a new (well, 2010 new) thing.

Also this is super minor but nothing screams "I don't know how to letter comics" more: Brianna consistently uses a serif I everywhere. In comics lettering, you are supposed to only use that for the pronoun I and use a sans-serif I everywhere else.

As I finish the Superman stories of 1989 and move into 1990, I've noticed one thing: Art Thibert's inks don't do Dan Jurgens's pencils any favors. Can't wait until Jurgens starts working with Brett Breeding. Of course I'm biased because Thibert's a Comicsgater, but he makes Jurgens look scratchy
