When I meet a Mandarin speaker in person, I do that. I’ll always say “我不可以说中文”, and they always go, in English, “wow, your pronunciation is very good!” I practiced the hell out of those tones.

It's paywalled but the punchline here is, Alabama Public Television hired a Republican polling firm to see if APT should cut ties with PBS. APT was at +41 and PBS was at +44. For some reason, they polled about DT while they were at it. He is at -2.4 (+44.3 - 46.7). In Alabama.

In practice, AI literacy doesn’t start with building the tool for your personal use. It starts with understanding yourself as a collection of tasks who should subcontract those out to a machine. Almost no regular person’s life currently exists as such.
