Ever since I was a little girl, I always dreamed of growing up and getting yelled at by strangers on the internet about the word ‘irregardless.’

In food history, we notice how super-refined foods--gelatin, vienna sausage, white bread--lose class and become horrifying once they become industrialized. Suddenly, fingermarks in bread dough demonstrate skill, not clumsiness. Post-chatGPT, I'm feeling this about writing. Smoothness feels gross.

The “problem” with vaccines? They so effective at preventing deaths that they create generations of people that question whether disease was a problem in the first place because they have never experienced the horrors of a world without vaccines.

Never bring a knife to a gun fight. Never bring a large bag of feathers to a fistfight. Don't bring anything to a MindFight, you're supposed to just do those ones with your mind.

Cleopatra lived closer in time to 'yeet' being in the dictionary than to the construction of the Great Pyramid of Giza.

Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night, thinking about an embarrassing thing you did once? Don't worry, everyone does that (thinks about that embarrassing thing you did, they think and talk about it all the time).

It is a coincidence that ‘emoji’ and ‘emoticon’ sound alike. ‘Emoji’ is a Japanese term meaning ‘pictograph’ (‘e’ is “picture, drawing” + ‘moji’ is “letter, character”). ‘Emoticon’ is ‘emotion’ + ‘icon.’ 🤯

Once again loving this interpretation of Caesar’s last words #IdesofMarch 🗡️
a picture of a book text. The text says "Suetonius adds that, according to some reports, he said in Greek 'Kai su, teknon' (which Shakespeare turned into the Latin 'Et tu, Brute'. It literally means 'You too, child', but what Caesar may have intended by the words isnt clear. Tempest cites 'an important article' by James Russell (1980) 'that has often been overlooked'. Russel points out that the words kai su often appear on curse tablets, and suggest that Caesar's putative last words were not 'the emotional parting declaration of a betrayed man to one he had treated like a son' but more along the lines of 'See you in hell, punk'.
