Yup, heard about this from friends in Guelph. Very upsetting. You spend money on infra and encourage people to use it, but then cut funding to keep it safe an useable all year? What a waste or resources and potential hazard. If anyone is injured as a result, they should call us.

Bill 33 has passed, but our fight for strong public schools is not over. #repealbill33 #onted #onpoli
FUND OUR SCHOOLS
Your government keeps saying you want to give parents a voice.
We are demanding to be heard.
We need a fully funded education system with transparency and accountability. In Toronto there are 22 democratically elected trustees that have knowledge of their communities and community needs. It is an invaluable resource for parents and students. We don't need a call centre. Listen to parents. Maintain our trustees who are elected by us to support us and our children. FUND OUR SCHOOLS.WHAT IS BILL 33?
Removes Local Control from Local School Boards
The Ministry of Education now has the power to remove local control & public voice from school boards and their elected trustees without a non-partisan, third-party investigation, based only on their opinion of what "the public good" is. This means they could remove all local control and transparency from policy, program, and budget decision-making.WHAT IS BILL 33?
Policing in Schools instead of investing
in Real Student Supports.
Province-wide, Special Education is underfunded by more than $850 million. Data from across
North America shows that
students with disabilities have significant negative impacts from school officer programs, and the
'safety' supports that are needed are social workers, child & youth workers, education support workers, and other professionals.REPEAL BILL 33

How much worse will housing accessibility, accomodations, and security for disabled tenants be when landlords are further advantaged with faster eviction mechanisms and more opportunity for retaliation against us?
Alt 3: The top left corner displays the bold text "We Need Cities To Back Tenants," colored in yellow and orange-red gradient, suggesting urgency. Below that, the phrase "ON BILL 60" is written in white capital letters. The main body of the text is in white quoting the second letter: This anti-democratic bill biases the process of landlord and tenant relations in one direction: towards landlords with the money, legal representation, and time to maximize their profits and usage of the Landlord and Tenant Board. In the meantime, members of the community will continue to face ever-increasing access to justice barriers. Even under the current LTB regime, Disabled tenants can barely get the representation and support they need to bring forward applications to uphold their rights to accommodation in housing protected under the Human Rights Code. And in yellow: How much worse will things be when landlords are further advantaged with faster eviction mechanisms and retaliations?

New awareness campaign
A digital poster in the style of a World War II propaganda piece. Isolaed on a yellow background, a normal, squarish, 20-something guy with glasses is sitting working on a laptop. A ghostly figure of Hitler has his arm around the guy and is grinning and shaking a fist triumphantly looking at the laptop screen. On the lid of the laptop where an apple might otherwise be is an openAI logo, bright green, and dripping green ooze down the lid. Text on the poster, in combinations of sans-serif type and brush script reads:

Residents expect stability and predictability in Ontario’s rental market, and now is not the time to consider changes to this system. As such, we have decided not to proceed with consultations on potential changes to month-to-month leases.

Ontario will continue to implement common-sense reforms and strengthen the province’s rental housing market by restoring balance at the Landlord and Tenant Board, cracking down on abuse of the system, and encouraging new rental construction to make it easier for families to find a place to call home.”

Doug Ford's conservative government is proposing the the biggest attack on Ontario renters and rental affordability in a generation. Not only would landlords be able to evict tenants without cause, but rent control in units built before 2018 would effectively be over. (See last row in the image.)
Text of table from newly proposed legislation. The heading says "Fighting Delays at the Landlord and Tenant Board." The bottom right box says the "Future State" of "Lease Agreement Expiry" would be "The government would consult on alternative option on lease agreement expiry that could allow landlords to control who occupies their units and for how long, allowing them to adjust tenancy agreements based on market conditions, personal needs, or business strategies. This would add flexibility for some landlords in the approach to leases, potentially unlocking additional rental unit stock."
