disabled people need to be so vigilant online. At the beginning of this year, I had 2 different men tell me how much they liked me, only to disappear and try to extort money out of me. Disability can be very lonely, but that loneliness can cost us. Stay safe out there.

My disability income support went up by 26.00 this year to combat inflation, and right on cue my rent went up by 29.00 this month. Grrrrreat. Being disabled means this happens and then when you say you can’t work for free, to combat poverty, people get mad.

as a disabled person living on benefits, I have to say, I feel weird about money. I always worry that I’ll never be okay; never be fully supported. When I make any money I feel like a criminal. There’s a whole emotional side to being disabled and benefits and money that we rarely understand.

You're way closer to needing care giving than you might you realize. When you do finally need caregivers you'll realize they aren't saints to be lionized; some are great and some are not great. Stop putting the caregivers on a pedestal and start looking @ the disabled people who need the care.
