While working on my GGML Competitive mod, I discovered that the game's animation timing has a bug that effectively shortens the programmed startup by 1f and extends recovery by 1f for every action in the game.

My copy of FF7 has a giga bug from the point of no return onwards. Every time you would load into a scene from that point onwards, it would play a random glitched cutscene from another point in the game, such as the gold saucer fly-over. these photos were taken during jenova's cutscene

Having now fully finished FF7, I am left with 1 clear point in my head.

The combat is what drags this game down for me. I can say positive things about every other aspect of the game, but half way through disc 2 I was so sick of the combat. Then by the final dungeon i was so sick of the combat that I begged the game out loud "please let me traverse one screen without combat".

The combat is not interesting, it's tedious, it's too easy (outside of the cheap ass optional super bosses which are too punishing), and it's too frequent.
it would have been like a 4 or 4.5 out of 5, but the combat makes it a 3.5 for overall enjoyment.
