The obvious questions regarding the Kindertransport is: why it was privately run and didn’t permit Jewish parents to accompany their children? There is continuity between the British govt’s refusal to accept hundreds of thousands of Jewish refugees and its present-day refusal to accept refugees

After Prosecutors in Milan investigated exploitation of 300 mostly Indian workers employed on the construction site of new US Consulate in Milan, American company Caddell Construction is paying €19m in back pay & compensation to the workers. They were forced to work a 12h day & paid less than €2/h.

Yes, there are technical, formal legal reasons why terrorism law is applied to protesters carrying placards, but not to political activists slashing boats. But stepping back, there is something wrong with a legal regime which criminalises one more than the other. A triumph of form over function.

From Pieve, Umbria-Car journey, trains x 3, bus to lovely hotel in Salò, with Germans and us. Now, from Salò after bus, trains x 2, another bus to Abano Terme, hotel now with us and other Italians. 2 older gents in pool discussing what's the best prosciutto, was no conclusion. Love it!

Agree! if only you, and your party were in Govt, had a substantial majority, you could actually do something about it. Bring back the Rep Peoples Bill where a Labour PM could introduce a cap on all party donations from the UK & abroad, & ban convicted criminals from donating. If only eh?..🤷‍♀️

What I love about Western democracy is you can bung a political party £ 36 million earned from criminal activity & most media will continue to point at asylum seekers & migrant care workers with families as the barbarians at the gate we need to defend ourselves from 🙄.
