This is happening everywhere, a few months ago, an eatery up in South Tyrol? Surely the beauty of travel is finding these gems yourself, not relying on a influencer/social platform? Queues/litter at Antico Vinaio are a disgrace. Hardly visit.

👍 sueing the city is better option, for lack of affordable rentals too, but think that was unsuccessful last time. Airbnbs/overtourism/bloody influencers are the scurge of our age. Loved Firenze, but with overtourism, and dare I say it, also cause of wealthy US o/seas students is a tragedy.

Thanks for that Nick, thats a good point, Sanchez could make the election all about housing and how he tried to bring in rent controls, caps etc and was prevented. 🤞 Lack of decent rental housing is the scurge of our age, in Spain, Italy, all over Europe, bloody air bnbs, 2nd/hol homes.. Speriamo🤞

Yes, I was quite surprised too!, even after a medieval history degree! The British Institute in Florence do alot of seminars online/in person on Florence art and history, Always learning!

Don't quote me, but think Firenze in the 1500s had quite a high literacy rate of about 80%, think that was the exception to other cities, (the Italian Republic didn't exist ofc at that time)

After Prosecutors in Milan investigated exploitation of 300 mostly Indian workers employed on the construction site of new US Consulate in Milan, American company Caddell Construction is paying €19m in back pay & compensation to the workers.
