I am absolutely thrilled to share my first photo this year of the extremely tiny, very beautiful Eastern Tailed-Blue butterfly from our upper meadow this evening. 💙 I was quite lucky to get close enough with my 100mm Macro Lens. Happy #InsectThursday #Photography99 📷 #Butterflies 🦋 #MeadowLife 🌱

HMRC denies running a "deliberately poor" phone service to push taxpayers to seek help online instead. 44,000 customers cut off without warning after being on hold for 70 minutes last yr, even worse now. So, wrong taxes paid, little people prosecuted and fined. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Likewise, to avoid mangling screenreader output it's best to change the first letter of each word in a hashtag to uppercase then it will be read out comprehensively. Can avoid recreating Unintentionally Inappropriate Domain syndrome which was a thing for a while. 3/3

Simply using the alt text space to circumvent the character count is the equivalent of parking a car in the disabled parking bay. Some screen readers assume anything in all caps is an acronym so read out the letters individually - good practice to switch to lowercase in alt text and elsewhere. 2/3

Some great advice for those new to adding alt text to images. Please consider helping visually impaired, cognitively impaired and neurodivergent folks. Its about lowering barriers to access and offering parity of experience to all. It also helps folks from other cultures understand context!
