I used to bike that exact intersection to Caltrain sometimes. I've often driven through it too. When driving, it is too common that I stop at a red light with the car behind me being stopped at least partially on the tracks, not able to clear the intersection safely.

Tonight I used the broad-edged pen for the first time in years and practiced a gothic script, one of several I used to practice. I used to write in Italian rotundas, but tonight I tried a more compressed gothic that would've been typical of northern Europe.

Stopped at Fox Tale for a Fox Sando and a mushroom coffee.

San Franciscan garlic noodles I'd only recently learned of this dish from @/flinttheraccoon.bsky.social. I find it has similarities with congyou banmian (蔥油拌麵) and pasta aglio e olio.

Spaghetti all'assassina I returned to this elegant but feisty recipe after coming across a different order of operations in its preparation. The result is no different from before, but the new way is more efficient.

A couple months ago I noticed how Minna St frames the Salesforce Tower; I happened to be biking around the area on Friday, so I took the photo opportunity with the bike.

Saw a cute scientific poster of red foxes at the Crafty Fox with @flinttheraccoon.bsky.social. Indeed as the poster says, we foxes are omnivores that eat berries, and that's why I tried a blueberry sour ale, the flavor of my favorite fruit 🦊🫐 The fried fish sandwich was also great of course.

Frolic's new (temporary) location brought me to a walk through a quieter part of SOMA yesterday. An intersection away from the first photo was a chocolate factory with a neat mural that I should've photographed.

I went to The Crafty Fox in the Mission District for an ale and some fish and chips. Served with a colorful jalapeno slaw, it's my new favorite fish and chips in the bay area.

I was excited to see fish balls as a new menu item at Ikea. Rather than ground fish, these were entire pieces of flaky haddock, which is really nice. 🦊🐟
