The hyena and the fennec fox

Back then I often cooked Chinese food, so I frequently cooked rice, and even steamed or cooked other ingredients with the rice all at once. I also liked using leftover rice as a shortcut to congee, though I'd use the stove to make the congee.

Yeah ^^ I used to have a rice cooker a long time ago. I haven't cooked anything else that uses rice in the years since then, so I don't see a need for one soon. This was my first time using instant rice, and it worked well for this kind of recipe ^^

Haha yes, unleash the culinary experiment uwu

Waiting for the instant rice to rehydrate.

Nothing better than a good hike through a beautiful forest 🌲❤️ Commission for @redwoodwolf.bsky.social #furryart #art #hiking #furry

A gray with red wolf is walking through a beautiful pine forest with a peaceful look on his face. He's got a golden septum ring and is wearing a green crossbody bag with pins on it. He's walking up so log stairs while using a walking stick that he found somewhere in the forest.

It was love at first bite! I liked the hint of apple cider vinegar in the cream, and the herbs complemented it well. I like fruit and savory pairings, and the chicken and apple were a good combination that I haven't had before.

I used canned roasted chicken breast, and in procedure I made the dish in similar fashion to renskavsgryta (reindeer stew).

Slightly browned Honeycrisp apple slices cook gently in a buttered frypan.

Sauteed garlic and rosemary in a frypan.

A pot with the sauteed ingredients set aside forming a colorful mixture, including garlic, rosemary, and sliced Honeycrisp apple and shallot.

Chicken and apple Stewed with shallot and garlic in heavy whipping cream, and flavored with rosemary, thyme, apple cider vinegar, black pepper, and maple sugar. At first (Tuesday) I sauteed in the frypan and finished the stew in a pot, but tonight I sauteed and made the stew all in the frypan.

A pot of creamy chicken and apple stew, showing off the red skin of the apple slices in contrast to the mostly white colors. In addition to scattered black pepper and thyme, some rosemary sprigs are placed in the center of the dish for presentation.

Yeah, the reason I hadn't had it in so long is that I don't often encounter it when grocery shopping.

Last weekend I got to try it for the first time in years, putting it in my coffee as I did before. Now I've found having it with raspberries with the coffee separate is my new preference, though I still appreciate having it in coffee as a unique and simple experience.

A slab of baked cheese on a cutting board next to a cup of some of the cheese cut into cubes and an AeroPress with ground coffee.

A spoonful of the brewed coffee with some cubes of the baked cheese. The coffee takes on some oiliness from the cheese while the cheese has been darkened from a cream color to orange from the coffee.

A charcuterie board sprinkled with paprika was also fun to share.

Zero was always my favorite growing up. It also had the absolute best starter plane, the SAAB J-35. (I played and replayed that entire game exclusively piloting only the J-35 lol. I never saw why it didn't make an appearance in any of the other games.)

This isn't the first time I've just told an artist to do whatever they want, and it's funny.. almost always the result is something that does feel genuinely representative of me even with the more intangible, personal aspects. I love it, haha. art by @bluehunterart.bsky.social

It was great bar food! Your experience reminds me of the one "asian" menu item at a casino restaurant that I had once when I was little, when I was visiting grandparents in rural Nevadan desert about an hour's drive from the nearest anything (including that casino).

En bild av en trivsam spårvagnshållplats.

A photograph of Muni Metro Castro Station. The subway station is a cozy space with plenty of lighting and the warm color of reddish-brown bricks, and one can look far beyond the platform to where the tracks stretch into brightly illuminated tunnels.

I used to bike that exact intersection to Caltrain sometimes. I've often driven through it too. When driving, it is too common that I stop at a red light with the car behind me being stopped at least partially on the tracks, not able to clear the intersection safely.
