This year the BC government set the wealth test for the HOG at above $2M, while renters get income tested at around $65k (adjusted net family income) for the full tax credit and get less money than the HOG for e.g. my condo. (Yes, this is my annual call to get rid of the HOG)
The threshold for the provincial homeowner grant for residential properties in B.C. has been set at $2.075 million for 2026, providing modest property tax relief to eligible homeowners.

There is a pattern emerging in labour negotiations: do not bargain if you are management and force the union to go on strike. Union goes on strike, becomes the bad guy, then the Liberal government steps in with binding arbitration, and the public forgets the labour dispute happened at all.
