imo, the permanent fix for the "but they'll leave" argument is simply to have all 🌎 allies sign an agreement that they can't take it with them, w/ exceptions for their own actual working labor (if there is any). If it was built w/ local labor, resources, infrastructure, tax base, education, it stays

Russia has been at war with Britain for years and the EU referendum was an open goal which they exploited. That doesn't mean that "Putin made Brexit happen" but his troll farms and media operations certainly played a part Brexiters may hate to hear it but to deny it is to deny a dangerous reality.

The concept of universality / shared future seems to have largely evaporated in favour of individualism / Randroid "objectivism". Lots of factors will have contributed to that, but I can't help but think the rise of the social media / on demand viewing will have played a significant role.
