I was trying to get SimCity 2000 to play midi music through DOSBox. I kept trying to manually connect the midi ports together, adjusted a thousand DOSBox params, and finally found out the issue was that, despite Qsynth coming with a default sound font, it wasn't applied. So I just had to apply it.
