Outing a sex worker - regardless of their political opinion, their moral stances or whatever - completely unnecessarily is an act of violence. Grim to see self proclaimed lefties hypocritically jump on this opportunistically. Lots to criticise about Reform, a councillor making ends meet is not one.

I really enjoyed writing for @hepi-news.bsky.social about the concerns I have around subject-linked maintenance grants, the impact on access to creative arts degrees, and their seeming inconsistency with wider widening participation policy

Polls open at 7am tomorrow for the Exeter local elections. Find your polling station: my.exeter.gov.uk/service/Poll... Please remember to bring an accepted form of photo ID with you to vote.
Large black-and-white “POLLING STATION” sign attached to a post on a quiet city street, with shopfronts and sidewalks visible in the background under an overcast sky.

15 minutes; no questions; government got the blame; my department to have 60% of us sacked. Apparently sacking us will lead to a ‘new, improved’ curriculum. No voluntary scheme, straight to selection and legal minimum redundancy payment.

Breaking my micro blogging avoidance to say that HoL debate on assisted dying today is exceptional today and reminds me of how much I appreciate the expertise and care of the Lords in forensically scrutinising this, and other, incredibly important issues.

I have a tradesman round fixing my boiler and he's had "Only You" by Yazoo on repeat for an hour. I've offered him tea, and he's accepted, but I feel like he's going through something and needs something stronger.

Just tried to show the child that a massive cardinal spider in the house was more scared of us than we are of it. So I tapped my nails on the floor next to it to make it freeze, to prove my point, and the monster f*cking turned and squared up to me 😂😂😂

12YO girl signed up to do “stand up comedy” at the talent show. 13YO boy decided to heckle her. Teacher started to tell the boy to leave her alone, but the 12YO comedian said “no, no, let him go, this is the closest he’s ever going to get to having a conversation with a girl.”

Good to see the two child policy scrapped It was a major cause of short term harm for children and their parents/guardians, but also baked in medium to long terms costs, in terms of educational attainment, social mobility, future income, economic growth - and for the following generation too

My coach, somewhat exasperated, questioned if I had any other special interests than prison history. I responded I liked running on treadmills... And then - without even realising the irony - promptly asked her if she was aware that treadmills were invented in a 19th century prison 🤦🏼‍♀️

The scorn heaped on "Underwater Basket Weaving" was based on college courses in experiential indigenous anthropology. Reeds are traditionally softened underwater to make them flexible for bending into baskets. It's a more useful skill for most than memorizing the 3 orders of ancient Greek columns.

Netflix’s doc The Quilters is brilliant. At 30 mins I wish it had been longer. It follows men in a maximum-security prison who design, make and sew these intricate quilts for foster children. The care that goes into making them is so touching. An object they see as being with these children forever.
A white man with grey facing towards a multicoloured quilt. He shown from the back of the head. Text reads

THE QUILTERS
The letter N is in read in the left hand corner.
