This illustrates not just the hypocrisy but the self-defeating nature of Trump's policies. Under MAGA doctrine, he enacts protectionism, trashes the alliance with Europe, and demands Europe take more responsibility for its own defence, and then finds it has consequences the US dislikes.

Healthcare should be there when you need it. No exceptions. Trans people deserve the same dignity, respect and access to care as everyone else.
Quote graphic. Headline reads: “When trust in healthcare is broken.”

Quote from Anthony Slaughter, Leader of the Wales Green Party:

“People had surgeries cancelled at the 11th hour, with no explanation or option to reschedule. These are people who had spent years preparing, both physically and mentally, for this life-affirming surgery.

In my own way, I was able to relate to that agonising wait. In the days leading up to planned surgery over recess, I underwent scheduled and serious surgery. You trust the system around you. For some, that trust has been broken.

What is important is that the voices and experiences of the trans community are amplified and understood. Gender-affirming healthcare saves lives. What this community needs now more than ever is decisive action, proof that their government will stand up for them and take the lead.”

Tellus has a long, storied history. I submitted my first paper there 30 years ago for that reason. I'm excited about Tellus's rebirth and plan to submit my next paper on the Arctic Ocean carbon cycle there. In the age of money-grubbing publishers, I encourage you to consider Tellus.
Publication Fees
Starting in 2026, Tellus operates as a Diamond Open Access journal.
All articles are published Open Access with no fees for authors — no submission charges and no article processing charges (APCs).
This model is made possible through financial support from the Max Planck Digital Library (MPDL), the International Meteorological Institute (IMI), and the Bolin Centre for Climate Research, which together cover the journal's publication costs.

Donald Trump wants more drilling in the North Sea for oil and gas. The government must not bow to his demands.
Quote graphic from Green Party Deputy Leader Rachel Millward, with an offshore oil platform in the background. Headline reads: “DON’T BOW TO TRUMP ON NORTH SEA OIL.” Full quote:

“This meeting is a true test for Andy Burnham’s ability to stand up to Trump and whether he can stand up for our children’s right to inherit a safe, habitable planet. If he chooses to side with Donald Trump and back Big Oil, he isn't facing up to the seriousness of our climate crisis.

“The prime minister should show President Trump that the UK will not bow to pressure for new oil and gas drilling in the North Sea. He needs to make clear that a safe, secure and prosperous future for the global environment and economy can only be achieved through an urgent move to clean energy.”
