tbh, I think this started to shift when the RT money dried up. Still, very jarring to see dead-enders like Lee Camp talking about the "sarin gas hoax" all these years later.

I think "we're just suffering from a post-deindustrial mass anxiety around gender" is a very underrated explanation for juuuuust about everything.

Deluxe Paint II turned you into a serious pixel artist. Released by Electronic Arts in 1986 on the Amiga, it was ported to DOS several years later and helped define how game graphics were created. No layers, no undo history, just pixels, patience, and talent.

Tangential, but it's wild that we've been running a natural experiment on the Korean peninsula for the past 70 years comparing "race" vs the circumstances of one's birth, and it just doesn't factor into these dude's worldview at all.

Five clay dogs buried under a palace doorway at Nineveh around 645 BC. Each one has its name written on its side in cuneiform. Expeller of evil. Catcher of the enemy. Biter of his foe. Loud is his bark. Don't think, bite. That last one is an instruction, written on the dog, addressed to the dog.

A Classic Boomer Take, unfortunately. I remember in undergrad when the Republicans screwed up their gerrymander of the county because they accidentally split my campus instead of packing it in with the designated Dem district. Cost them a commission seat and they were hopping mad.
