PT guy took pity on me this morning and massaged and iced my knee. Then my car let me turn off navigation (it has issues). Happy Friday!

I've been seeing a lot of people loving the Steam game #Dressmaker so thought I'd share this story about the creator: his wife has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and can't sew anymore so he created the game to give her back her hobby 🥹😭 mashable.com/entertainmen...
Dressmaker began as a personal project by South African developer Jonathan Hau-Yoon and his partner Sabrina Becker, a real-life dressmaker and artist. Becker had been forced to shelve aspirations of working in costume design after she was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a connective tissue disorder that impacts her ability to sew. Instead, she applied her years of fashion expertise to the development of Dressmaker.

I ordered new glasses, managed to send them to the entirely wrong address, and now I’m kicking myself. But I guess I understand now why the photo they take of the delivered package is a good idea. I recognized the old porch. 🙁

At our house it’s called “but it was in my clean laundry-itis” and that’s how I lost multiple sweatshirts/sweaters to youngest Also very suspicious that those items just fell into their clean laundry basket because they’ve been doing their own wash since middle school

I hate doing the "a rollback of trans rights is the gateway for a rollback of women's rights" thing because trans rights are human rights in and of themselves, whatever the impact on cis women. But goddamn I wish more cis women had a sense of history and self preservation.

We did something similar with my AuDHD oldest. He did get better at remembering as he worked through the year, having that routine of checking w/someone helped. It took time.

And then the 2nd checkout person said, "hopefully things will get better in 2 years," which startled me because I may live in super blue Illinois but I've never gotten partisan election comments at the gas station service counter. I hope we don't have to wait 2 years! I hope the midterms help!

Stopped at the gas station this morning for a snack and I was the only person in the store. I said to the checkout person "you look bored!" She agreed and said it's been really quiet lately. "Times are hard," I said. Another checkout person said "it's the gas prices!" I agreed that those are high.

She won't let me put the shirt on her just because -- she has to agree to it, or it has to be her idea entirely. She's been known to bring it to me if she wants to put it on.

Lizzie let me put her thundershirt on today before I left for work. She was super anxious last night - and it was a really big noisy storm, so I get it! She got me up about 30 minutes before the lightning started, and if she does that again I have to remember to offer her shirt right away.

Use this foolproof flowchart to figure out if you need more books. (Spoiler: you do.) The Friends of YDL Fall Book Sale starts tomorrow! 📖 Thursday | 6-8pm (Friends of YDL members only; memberships start at $10) 📖 Friday | 11am-5pm 📖 Saturday | 11am-3pm 📖 Sunday | 1-3pm
Flowchart titled 'Is there a problem?' with two paths. If yes, it asks 'Can books help?'—if yes, arrows point to four stacks of books (colorful spines, a ribbon-tied bundle, antique leather-bound books, and orange Penguin Classics); if no, it asks 'Are you sure?'—yes leads to the book stacks, no loops back to 'are you sure?' If the answer to 'Is there a problem' is no, the chart asks 'Are you sure?'—yes leads to 'you're right,' no leads to the book stacks. Text reads: 'really? not even gorgeous, mind-altering writing that makes you feel alive?' Ypsilanti District Library logo in the bottom corner.

If the only thing you have to note about the rising tide of fascism is that we have to let it rise far enough to be over someone else's head in order to stop it, I don't think your strategy is particularly good.
